Marcos Penca Roncal

Founder of Vanari and author of the travel guides on this site.

Background

He holds a PhD from The Ohio State University, in the United States, in computer science applied to strategic economic models.

What drives him

He loves making hard things easy and getting ahead of what's coming, staying one step ahead. That is what Vanari sets out to do: have the trip sorted before you set off, and let you see coming whatever might go wrong.

Away from work

He lives by the beach. Every morning he walks along the shore with his border collie and, when they can, with his wife.

Guides he has written

• Campervan routes through Norway: fjords, timing and clearance
• Campervan routes through Spain: the green north, when to go and city zones
• Norway by Campervan: A 10-Day Fjord Itinerary You Can Actually Plan
• How much does a campervan trip cost (and how to work it out)
• How to plan a campervan trip, stress-free
