The Pre-Trip

Your vehicle's real measurements with everything fitted (aerial, roof rack, bike on the back). The route is planned around your height and width, so it keeps clear of low bridges, narrow streets and tunnels you wouldn't fit through; length and weight we check against the map and warn you about.

The body width, not counting the mirrors (they fold in). It's on the vehicle's spec sheet. It keeps you off streets and lanes you wouldn't actually fit through.

The vehicle's maximum authorised mass (MAM) when loaded, not what it weighs right now. It's on the spec sheet or the registration document. We check your route against the weight limits recorded on the map and warn you about the stretches your vehicle isn't allowed on; where the map has no data, we tell you that too.

What your vehicle actually drinks. It is the biggest line of the trip: with your figure the budget is yours. Leave it blank and we use an average — and we say it is our estimate.

How many days you last before emptying grey and black water. Leave it blank and we estimate it from your vehicle — and we say so.

Optional: only if you want a different cap than the one your pace already sets. Kilometres or hours behind the wheel, whichever suits you. We stick to it as long as the trip fits your dates; if it doesn't, the roadbook tells you the trip's total km and which days go over your cap.

One total number in euros, for the whole trip and the whole group — no need to break it down. It's not a fixed price: we adjust the pace and stops to get close to it.
